A Black Man Will Head the Human Rights Campaign

For the first time in history, the Human Rights Campaign will have a person of color as its president. Alphonso David, a Black man, will lead the organization.

David has had a storied career in New York and Pennsylvania as a law professor, legal advisor and civil rights attorney. In his own words, as reported by the Washington Blade, “I believe that together, we can harness the strength that’s inherent in our differences, to stand together in the face of fear and division, and that’s exactly what the Human Rights Campaign was built for.”
